Founders Park was once the old School’s Tool building. When the property was deemed unusable, our Board of Alderman decided to make this parcel of land into a Downtown Park! Construction began on the new park in July 2018, beginning with demolition of the old building and prepping the ground for what was to come. With a few changes to the original plan, construction of park elements began in November 2018 with funding from two grants from the State of North Carolina. Once everything was completed the park held its Grand Opening on March 31st, 2019 – the Town’s 148th inaugural birthday.
