Bridging the Triad

Greensboro Parks & Recreation, High Point Parks & Recreation Kernersville Parks & Recreation, Lexington Parks and Recreation, and Winston-Salem Recreation & Parks are collaborating on an exciting program to get youth engaged with Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)!

Participants will compete as individuals in four age groups: 8-10, 11-14, 15-17, and adult. Bridges will be judged based on how much weight it will support, divided by the total mass of the structure. The top three most efficient bridges in the youth categories and the first place in the adult category will advance to the regional competition. There will also be a prize in for the most creative design.

To register for this free competition, visit your local recreation center or bridge competition host site to receive construction supplies from January 28-February 6. Local competitions will be held February 9th and the regional competition will be held February 23

Competition Date & Time: Saturday, February 9, 10:00am – 1:00pm

Registration: Pick up your supply packet between Monday, January 29 and Wednesday, February 6. Packet pickup hours are Monday – Friday 9:00am – 8:00pm

American Innovative Beekeeper Academy

Beginner and Journeyman Beekeeping Class

Join us and learn how to become a successful beekeeper! We offer a supportive academy team to assist in the education and application of being a beekeeper. Like a beehive, a community of beekeepers are much more viable than a lone individual. Come learn with us! Heartsavers USA

CPR /AED for Adult/ Child/Infant – Ages 16 & Up

Learn how to respond to emergencies including cardiac arrest and choking. If you are ever needed to save a friend, family member, or neighbor’s life, this class will make sure you are prepared.

First Aid – Ages 16 & Up

Learn the critical skills needed to manage an emergency until EMS arrives. Topics include First Aid basics, medical, injury, environmental emergency response, bleeding, sprain, broken bones, shock and others.

Champions in Motion

CIM Adult Karate – Ages 16 & Up
