Intro to Pickleball 101

This one-and-a-half-hour class is designed to introduce the rules and fundamentals techniques of the game called Pickleball. Each participant by the end of the session will have learned the basics to enjoy regular participation in recreational game play. Teaching will occur on the Pickleball court and participants will enjoy practicing learned techniques and engaging in group play.

Topics covered include:

  • basic rules
  • court setup and Pickleball terminology
  • discussions on selecting the proper paddle, gripping the paddle and using the correct ball.
  • proper stances and hitting posture
  • scorekeeping
  • court positioning

Once the basics are covered, participants will engage in practicing the techniques discussed with feedback provided by the instructor.

Participants will also engage in limited recreational play enabling them to utilize the skills learned from the session. The instructor will assist in providing feedback and ensuring that the participants have mastered the fundamentals.

This will be an on-the- court session focusing on drills and some group play.

Equipment will be provided if needed.

Ages: 12 & Up

Cost: $25/per class

Location: Fourth of July- Courts #4

Registration Ends: noon the day of the class
