Pickleball
You’ve heard about and wondered what it is all about. Why not experience it for yourself and join a Intro to Pickleball class. If you are more experienced try our intermediate clinic or a skills clinic with the ball machine. If you are looking to play outdoor play can be found at the Fourth of July Park or Civitan Fitness Park most mornings weather permitting.
Intro to Pickleball 101
This one hour class is designed to introduce the rules and fundamentals techniques of the game called Pickleball. Each participant by the end of the session will have learned the basics to enjoy regular participation in recreational game play. Teaching will occur on the Pickleball court and participants will enjoy practicing learned techniques and engaging in group play.
Topics covered include:
- basic rules
- court setup and Pickleball terminology
- discussions on selecting the proper paddle, gripping the paddle and using the correct ball.
- proper stances and hitting posture
- scorekeeping
- court positioning
Once the basics are covered, participants will engage in practicing the techniques discussed with feedback provided by the instructor.
Participants will also engage in limited recreational play enabling them to utilize the skills learned from the session. The instructor will assist in providing feedback and ensuring that the participants have mastered the fundamentals.
This will be an on-the- court session focusing on drills and some group play.
Equipment will be provided if needed.

Beginner Skills Session
This one-and-fifteen minute class is designed for the novice Pickleball participant to start playing games.
This class will focus on several fundamental skills and brief introduction to various techniques such as:
- return volley
- types of shots
- when to use shots/dinks
- bounce rules
- mastery of basic rules
Additionally, there are dozens of topics that will be discussed for game improvement.
This will be an on-the- court session focusing on drills and some group play.

2-Day Clinic
Discover more of the sport of pickleball with this 2 night instructional class. Each week you will learn new skills to help you improve your knowledge and abilities in pickleball.

Intermediate Skills Session 102
This one-and-a-half-hour class is designed for the average Pickleball participant who understands the basics but wants to improve their game.
This class will focus on several critical strategies and techniques for success and will provide participants the ability to enhance their skills in the following areas:
- serving
- return of serve
- dinks & lobs
- block volleys
- 3rd shot drops and resets to sustain rallies.
Additionally, there are dozens of topics that will be discussed for game improvement.
This will be an on-the- court session focusing on drills and some group play.

Skills Improvement Session (Ball Machine) 201
This class is designed for the average player wanting to improve their skills in a fast-paced session using a state-of-the-art ball machine. This hour session, will allow the participants to work on consistent returns, proper techniques and footwork on typical Pickleball shots.
Each participant will use the machine to practice the following drills.
- Dinking drills: the machine feeding balls, and players must dink to a target, and then that player executes a dink crosscourt, and then works on the short dink.
- Volley drills: the machine feeding balls at the player. They use their core and shoulders to contact in front, trying to hit deep to the backcourt.
- Baseline feeds: the player receives a ball from the machine deep on the baseline. Working on footwork and taking the ball in front, using hips and shoulders and an extended follow-through the participant returns the ball to the left and right sides of the opponent’s court. The participant will also take a return from the machine and move in, returning the ball deep, then get to the net to attack. Additionally, some focus will be on executing a third shot drop, if time permits.

Private Skills Improvement Session (Ball Machine) 202
This is designed for the average/above average player wanting a private session using a state-of-the-art ball machine. This 30-minute session will allow the participant to work on consistent returns, proper techniques and footwork on typical Pickleball shots.
Designed to practice all of the following drills.
- Dinking drills: the machine feeding dinks for the participant to return.
- Volley drills: the machine shoots balls at the participant to practice returns.
- Baseline feeds: the player receives a ball from the machine deep on the baseline in a straight and side to side fashion allowing the participant to consistently return the ball to the left and right sides of the opponent’s court.
- Third Shot Drop: the player will be able to focus on the third shot drop.
Cost: $75/per class
