Site Conceptual Design
After tabulating all the results we were presented with a Site Conceptual Design. A conceptual design is an early phase of the design process, in which the broad outlines of function and form of something are articulated, this something being the acreage of Pope Park. It includes the design of interactions, experiences/services, processes and some strategies.

Project Update
7/21/2021
At this time there is no date for completion of Etta Lea & Lawrence Pope Memorial Park because we need to secure the funding. As of 2019 the estimated cost for the 80 acre park was $15 Million. We have been looking into multiple options, but $15 Million is a large sum of money. There are plans in place to seek grant funds with a hopeful start of construction in 2023.
9/29/2021
Etta Lea & Lawrence Pope Memorial Park will be closed until further notice due to greenway construction.
The town has begun construction for the first phase of the Kerner Mill Greenway Project. If you have any questions please contact Public Services at 336-996-6916.
