A Note From Us About COVID-19

Uncategorized

***UPDATED***

Over the past several weeks, we have been educating ourselves about COVID-19 and its impact in the Triad.  As a Town we are dedicated to best serve and protect our citizens and employees.  Based on the Governor’s recommendation of not having large events and gatherings (over 100 people), we have made some necessary decisions.  The following cancellations/postponements are effective immediately and will continue until May 1st, 2020:

Parks and Recreation

  • All tournaments hosted by the Parks and Recreation Dept. at Ivey Redmon Sports Complex, Swaim Complex, Cash/Bagley Fields, Parks and Recreation building or any other facilities.
  • All league play.
  • All Kernersville Cannons events.
  • All programs.
  • All other special events sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department.

These cancellations/postponements may continue beyond May 1st, 2020.  A decision will be made at a later date regarding this.

The Town of Kernersville is working with other agencies that are hosting large events to determine the appropriate course of action.

The Town of Kernersville has implemented internal policies to help mitigate the chance of our employees contracting and/or spreading the virus.  The Town also has contingency plans in place that will allow for services to citizens to continue should a reduction in work force occur.

The Town will continue providing updates about COVID-19 and cancellations/postponements as they occur.
